EON Productions and Aston Martin partnered with London Auction house, Christie’s, to offer 007’s Aston Martin DB10 in an auction to James Bond fans worldwide. At the end of it all, Aston Martin’s Bond-verse halo car raked in a surprising $3,476,466 when no more than $2.5 million was expected.

The Bond car auctioned was one of ten designed exclusively for Spectre, and is the only one to date released for public sale. As happy as the new owner of the DB10 might be, he is unfortunately limited to private drives and boastings as the car is not a production model and therefore is not road legal. Then again, he owns a Bond car, who cares? He has more bragging rights than he will ever need and a signature by the leading man himself to boot, Daniel Craig not James Bond, of course.

The DB10’s exterior is sleek and smooth while simultaneously retaining the aggressive nature required to survive in the Bond world. Under the hood lies a functioning 4.7 litre V8 that should reach a top speed of 190-mph. We saw the DB10 take the Jaguar C-X75 concept to school, but sadly, that is the only display of potential we are likely to see.

Other items such as Bond’s Day of the Dead costume and the Omega Seamaster 300 wristwatch work by Craig were also auctioned at the event. According to Christie’s, proceeds from the auction will go to Médcins Sans Frontiéres (Doctor’s without Borders) and other charitable organizations. Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, Bond producers, were pleased that the money raised would go to such worthy causes and were delighted at the event’s profitability.
