Bentley Continental 24 Inspired by Nurburgring

Bentley Continental 24 Nurburgring

The Bentley Continental 24 is a prime example of a company that is a veteran of special editions and exclusive models. This model has been planned based on the company’s return this year for the third consecutive year to the 24 hours Nürburgring, a legendary 24-hour annual race held on the Nürburgring, a 22.8 km-long race track in Germany.

Built in the 1920s around the Eifel Mountains and the village and medieval castle of Nürburg, this racetrack earned the nickname by racing legend Jackie Stewart as “Green Hell” due to the dangerous nature of the track and the fact that it claims lives regularly each year.

The special-edition model Bentley Continental 24 is limited to 24 cars and will be restricted to Europe, although some of those who can afford it will probably be able to get access to it from other regions as well.

Engine and Performance

The car is built on the lines of the Bentley Continental GT Supersports and uses a 700 hp engine capable of boosting up 750 lb-ft torque. The Bentley Continental GT Supersports holds the record as being the fastest road-worthy Bentley ever to be built. The titanium exhaust of the new car generates enough noise to create the right impression to those who happen to see it cruising along.

The 6.0-liter twin turbocharged W12 engine jacks up a top speed of 336 kmph at an acceleration rate of 0 to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds, making it as good a sports car as any, if not better than most!

Comfort Within

Inside the car, there is diamond-quilted stitching on the Alcantara seats, which goes well with the matching black and yellow or red upholstery to match the color of the bodywork. The standard racing steering wheel and compact dashboard in subdued black create the pleasant and exhilarating sensation you get while sitting behind the wheel of a top-class racing car.

The color scheme of the car is quite appealing, especially the Monaco Yellow over a Black crystal finish, although the St James Red over black is also quite attractive. You can get a single-color piece at no extra cost, as well.

The finish of the 21-inch wheels is accentuated with painted alloy steel in red or yellow with black brake calipers which match the carbon fiber wing mirrors.

Great Expectations

The Bentley Team ABT supports the car, which is part of the ABT Sportsline, which has set high hopes for the races at Nürburgring in 2017 to be held shortly. The first-off pieces are expected to be available in July 2017 and will come at a respectable price of €250,000 (about $280,600).

As usual, the car manufacturer has set expectations high for this special-edition model. From what we have seen already, in more ways than one, the car has already met these expectations. Although perhaps not so appealing to the more conservative customer base, it is that particular spirit of non-conservativeness that has sustained Bentley with all its hardliners over the years and is prevalent in the Bentley Continental 24.
