First, let’s get this out of the way: if you’re looking to buy either car, you’re probably going to be happy either way. However, will you be happier with either the Ferrari Enzo or the McLaren F1? Let’s dig in.
Let’s start with the similarities. Both of these classic supercars are powered by very powerful V-12 engines. The Ferrari’s V12 pumps out a bit more horsepower, 651 bhp than the McLaren’s BMW V12, which produces 618 BHP. However, the Ferrari is significantly heavier at 3135 lbs compared to the 2546 pound McLaren.

In terms of costs, however, the Ferrari is clearly the better buy. The Ferrari Enzo can be had for around $3,000,000 used but in great condition. You may even be able to pick one up for less than $2.5 million.
McLaren F1
The McLaren F1? Get your check book out, take a deep breath, and steady your heart. An excellent condition McLaren F1 can cost $15 million or more.
The McLaren F1’s sky high price tag isn’t just due to its faster speeds, as only 106 F1s were ever produced. Meanwhile, 400 Ferarri Enzo’s were manufactured. Both cars are very rare, but the McLaren F1 is one of the rarest cars ever produced.
Either way, both cars are collector’s items. If you pick up either the Ferrari Enzo or the McLaren F1, make sure you baby it. Yeah, it’ll be a lot of fun on the road and track, but a lot of owners keep theirs nested in the collector’s garage.
