Aston Martin which is well-known for customizing Land Rovers has now come up with an improvement on their earlier version the WB12. Although there is not much information available yet on the grapevine, there is a lot of talk going on in the automobile world about the new supercar from Aston Martin, especially after it has been displayed at the recent Geneva Motor Show.
The plan for the Vengeance Aston Martin DB9 Volante was conceived two years ago in the form of the WB12, built on the lines of the DB9 coupé. Now ‘back with a vengeance’ seems to be the latest theme by Aston Martin with a car that boasts both top performance and unique custom design. The new model is a breakaway from the standard DB9 for sale regarding appearance.
Under the Hood
The new supercar is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine and jacks up a respectable 517 hp. Performance-wise, It is on par with 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 4.6 seconds and with a top speed of 295 kilometers per hour. The rear axle is linked to a 510 bhp transmission.
According to Afzal Kahn Aston Martin’s founder and CEO, the creation of the Vengeance presented a few formidable challenges, as it is a coach-built vehicle but in the usual British way, they were able to overcome the hurdles, he said. The design is inspired by the models which they produced in the 1980s and 1990s. Kahn expressed confidence that the new car would receive as much acclaim as its predecessor, the WB 12.
More about the Car
The bodywork is composed of bonded aluminum giving it the same rigidity of previous models, but still retaining its good looks and lightening the load at the same time.
The widened C-pillars and wings have been retained as they were in the hardtop vengeance, but the ‘double-bubble’ assembly for the roof has been discontinued, to make way for the foldaway convertible roof.
The exhaust in the ‘crosshair’ style and the rear lighting and classic wheels are still fashioned in original Aston Martin style. The interiors are black leather, with fluted designs on the doors, armrests, and inserts.
According to Afzal Kahn, the Vengeance Aston Martin DB9 Volante is going to be an extremely limited edition, and the total number of cars produced may be 100 or even less than that.
