New Porsche Experience Center Opens in Los Angeles

Porsche Experience Center

Porsche enthusiasts feeling left in the cold by the German automaker can rejoice as there is a new Porsche Experience Center now open in Los Angeles. The 53-acre plot of land is home to Porsche’s second Experience Center facility in the U.S. where fans, families and enthusiasts can fully experience everything Porsche has to offer.

“California has a rich history with Porsche and racing,” Klaus Zellmer, president and CEO of Porsche North America, said. “The West Coast was vital to the success of the 356, and the state has a strong racing heritage. The more that the 356 won at tracks like Laguna Seca and Riverside, the more people bought them. Today 23 percent of the Porsches sold in the U.S. are sold in the California market.”

The center, which is just a short drive from LAX in Carson, Calif., allows people to drive the latest Porsche off-road, on a track or experience ice and snow driving conditions. The facility will also become the new home of Porsche North America’s motorsport team, catering to both new and vintage campaigns. The facility will also specialize in restoring historic cars.

As with most luxury brands, the Porsche Experience Center will be home to just more than the automaker’s latest offerings. There will be a fine-dining restaurant, café with a view of the track, five racing simulators and a gift shop for all the latest Porsche swag.

Getting track time doesn’t come cheap. Seat time in a Porsche 718 Boxster for just 90 minutes starts at $384. So, the question is, how bad do you want to experience all that Porsche has to offer?
