Top 5 Lamborghini Murciélago Special Editions

Below is a list of the top 5 Lamborghini Murciélago Special Editions. Each of these Murciélago variants have their own unique features and designs that separate them from your typical Lamborghini for sale.

5. Murciélago LP670–4 SuperVeloce (2009–2010)

Murciélago LP670–4 SuperVeloce

If any Lamborghini model ever truly deserved the “SV” designation, it’s the Murciélago LP670-4. The LP670-4 SV earned top rank in the Murciélago pecking order by shedding mass and adding grunt: Its 6.5-liter V12 produces 670hp, 30hp more than the LP640; it also weighs 220lb. less than the LP640 at 3,850lb.

The lengths the engineers went to shed weight off the LP670-4 SuperVeloce are inspired. 44lb. were removed from the chassis while simultaneously increasing its torsional stiffness by 12%. A new exhaust system helped shave 57lb. from the engine area, and the liberal use of Alcantara and carbon-fiber for the interior slashed another 75lb. off the standard Murciélago.

Originally slated for a 350-unit production run, apparently only 186 examples were ever produced as the factory had to begin producing the new Aventador. Base price in 2010 was listed at $452,995.

Murciélago 40th Anniversary (2004)

Murciélago 40th Anniversary

Lamborghini rang in its 40th anniversary back in 2004 with a limited run of 50 Murcs, all finished in Verde Artemis (jade green).

Complementing the three-layer pearl paint job were a few subtle modifications. Visible outward changes included the use of an “optic” carbon-fiber coating for the upper front window surrounds and rear pillars, as well as the inclusion of grey anthracite wheels reminiscent of those equipped on older Lamborghini models.

The interior featured an asymmetrical design, with the driver’s side being finished in Grigio Syrius (dark grey) perforated leather, whereas the passenger’s side was done in a smooth black leather.

At its release, the 40th anniversary Murciélago carried a €15,000 premium over the standard cars €193,000 MSRP.

Murciélago LP640 Versace (2006)

Murciélago LP640 Versace

The Murciélago LP640 Versace was a joint effort between two world famous Italian companies, Gianni Versace and Automobili Lamborghini, in celebration of the Paris Motor Show and Paris Fashion Week in 2006.

A total of 10 units were produced in either “Isis” white or “Nero Aldebaran” black. A custom interior designed in a collaborative effort between Versace designers and Lamborghini “Ad Personam” program specialists, and a set of exclusive matching accessories hand-made by Versace deserve further attention.

Throughout the interior the Versace “Greek fret” motif appears either embossed or finely stitched, and adorns the full grain nappa leather surfaces used extensively in the cabin. To match the chic interior design touches, customers also received a matching luggage set with two suitcases, a suit carrier, and a pair of driving shoes and driving gloves finished in blue calfskin.

Exact pricing info for the coupe is unavailable, but the Murciélago LP640 Versace Roadster is said to have retailed for around $1 million USD.

Murciélago LP650-4 Roadster (2009-2010)

Murciélago LP650-4 Roadster

The LP650-4 Roadster, up 10hp from the standard Murciélago’s 640hp, could be considered the slightly subdued, topless brother to the LP670-4 SuperVeloce. Available in a single color scheme, “Grigio Teleso” (flat grey) with orange accents, the LP650-4 Roadster was limited to just 50 units.

Like the 40th anniversary Murciélago, the LP650-4 Roadster also featured an asymmetrical interior, with black Alcantara used for the driver’s side dash and trim and “Nero Perseus” leather used for the passenger’s side. Flashes of bright orange adorn the e.gear paddles and e.gear switch frame, which match the “Arancio Leonis” stitching used throughout the interior.

Price at launch was somewhere north of $380,000.

Reventón (2008)

Lamborghini Reventón

Although technically a different model, the Reventón is essentially a Murciélago LP640 with a different exterior. It uses the same 640hp, 6.5-liter V12 and steel/carbon-fiber chassis as the Murc, but gets a heavy infusion of aeronautical styling conveyed through its carbon-fiber body, finished in “Grey Barra due,” a flat, mid-opaque grey.

An interesting feature of the Reventón is its asymmetrical doors, as the spoiler below the driver’s side is larger to meet increased airflow demands for the oil cooler. Other notable features are a triple TFT liquid crystal display used in the dash inspired by airplane cockpits.

The Reventón was limited to a 20-unit production run and was sold for between $1.2-$1.5 million.
