The car handles beautifully, while the interior is made of fine materials, and is pretty plush. The ride is firm, but that’s what you want from a car whose primary mode is a coupe. The price is $50K, but it’s a car that will make just about anyone envious.

I didn’t want to ignore Chevy on this list, that’s the sort of thing that gets you death threats. The Camaro SS is a truly monstrous muscle car, packing a 6.2-liter V8 inside a stylish body. Inside, there’s a premium-feeling cabin, with no more ugly plastics. The handling is better than you’d probably expect, while the engine produces a wonderful 477 horsepower. The retail price? $48K.
2. Honda Civic Type R
The longtime favorite of the boy racers, this car may not have the prestige of its German cousins, but it’s a worthy car nonetheless. Its MSRP is just $35K, and it’s thunderously rapid. The car’s got sharp, angular looks that hark back to older sports cars. The turbocharged 2-liter engine can hit 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds, it’s pretty darn practical, and it’s just plain fun. If you like the looks as much as I do, then you’re in for a treat at a low, low price.

When a car is pitching itself as a spiritual successor to the legendary and incredibly beautiful Jaguar E-Type, you sit up and take notice. While the F-Type cannot live up to its own hype, it has a damn good try. The cabin is as classy as you’d expect from the famous British marque, and made from excellent materials. The trunk is spacious, it’s got solid tech, and driving is very good fun indeed. The base price is $59K, and for that, you get a turbo four-cylinder engine producing 296 horsepower. All the other engines available produce over 380 horsepower, so if you need a little more oomph and can afford it, you can grab yourself a V8.
