2019 Chevrolet Camaro Turbo 1LE Track Package
For those who aspire to take their Chevrolet Camaro to the track, the 1LE Track Performance package has always been a must. Unfortunately, the performance package was also limited to cars with naturally aspirated V-8’s and V-6’s. For those on a tighter budget and looking at a four cylinder, that meant you couldn’t get a track worthy Camaro.
How the times have changed. The 2019 Chevy Camaros will offer the 1LE track performance package on four cylinder models for the first time. This package includes an upgraded sports suspension, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 RunOnFlat performance tires, a limited-slip differential, and Brembo four-piston front brake calipers. The package costs $4,500.
Those who have taken the four cylinder Camaro variant out to the track report that it has solid handling, an industrious clutch, and excellent braking power. The end result is an affordable track car, starting at just over $30,000, that isn’t all too bad on the environment either. Be warned, however, while the suspension is great for the track, it is a bit stiff for the commute.
As for transmission, you get one choice: a six speed manual. Combined with 295 lb-ft of torque, the four cylinder Camaro should hit sixty in about 5.4 seconds. In regards to horsepower, the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro four cylinder comes with a respectable 275 of them. Yes, the Camaro’s six and eight cylinder variants offer many more ponies (and much more speed), but you’ll have to spend a lot more at the dealership and the gas pump to get them.
