2017 Bentley Flying Spur W12 S is 202-MPH Luxury
Ten horsepower may not seem like much. To the 2017 Bentley Flying Spur W12 S, though, it is enough to take the entry-level Bentley to a 202-mile-per-hour top speed. That is a whole two mph more than before! It also makes it the fastest four-door ever produced by the luxury automaker.
Power still comes from the twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine. The engine now makes 626 horsepower and 605 pound-feet of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels and rockets the large luxury sedan to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds. The suspension has been retuned for a more refined handling.
The Bentley Flying Spur comes in two flavors—the V8 S and W12 S. Bentley wanted to make sure the common folk could tell the difference between the two by giving the W12 S some unique styling cues. The brightwork has been painted in gloss black. There is badging on the C-pillar, tinted front and rear lights, and seven-spoke, 21-inch wheels unique to the W12 S.
Inside, there is two-tone leather, knurled paddle shifters, a three-spoke steering wheel, black trim, and W12 S stitching on the headrests. Interior options include five-spoke, 21-inch wheels, carbon-fiber trim and carbon-ceramic disc brakes.
How much will the 2017 Bentley Flying Spur W12 S cost? We don’t know yet—but if you have to ask, you probably can’t afford it. Oh, and don’t forget Bentley’s litany of bespoke options that could up the price. Pricing should be revealed closer to the sedan’s on-sale date later this year. The updated W12 S will begin deliveries before the end of the December.
