2018 Detroit Auto Show Preview

2019 Acura RDX
The Detroit Auto Show is considered by many to be the “granddaddy” of them all. Unsurprisingly, the “Big 3” based in Detroit, which includes General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler, show off many of their latest and greatest cars and concepts. It’s not just the Michigan manufacturers, however. Many Asian and European brands are also going to use the 2018 Detroit auto show to show off new concepts and soon-to-launch cars.
Honda’s Acura division is expected to show off their new 2019 Acura RDX, for example. A lot of industry insiders are watching the new Acura RDX closely. This model will wear Acura’s new “Precision” badge and for the first time will be built by Acura from the ground up.

2018 BMW X2
BMW, meanwhile, will be debuting their 2018 BMW X2, a smaller SUV crossover. The X2 points to the future of BMW and is also a reminder that crossovers are quickly becoming king. Jeep is also expected to debut its redesigned Cherokee SUV.
Speaking of the Detroit auto manufacturers, Chevrolet is expected to let the public get up close and personal with the brand new Silverado pickup truck. Pickups remain very popular, especially in the United States, but Chevy has fallen behind crosstown rival Ford.

2019 Ford Ranger
Meanwhile, Ford is jumping back into the small pickup truck segment that it once dominated. The all-new Ford Ranger is expected to be a hot seller, especially in the United States. Chrysler is also slated to show off a new Ram pickup truck.
The best thing about the Detroit auto show, however, isn’t what we know they’ll debut, but instead the surprises that are in store. Essentially every year a few of the auto companies show off trailblazing concepts and automobiles that come out of left field. Expect the 2018 Detroit auto show to be no different.
