Porsche 964 Nicknamed The Speedy Irishman
The Porsche 964 model built between 1989-1994 and is widely acknowledged as the sweet spot for the Porsche 911 model. The 964 generation is the perfect combination of classic and modern design when talking about older Porsche 911’s. DP Motorsport’s, a company known for performing modifications to classic Porsche 911’s has taken a 964 coupe and created an interesting vintage looking sports car nicknamed The Speedy Irishman.
The Speedy Irishman started out as a standard rear-wheel drive Carrera 2 model. The team over at DP Motorsport’s added a carbon and kevlar reinforced plastic body kit which widened the car by almost an inch. Several other modifications were made including vents below the headlights, metallic mirrors, and a revised engine cover which really add some new accents to a classic design. The exterior is finished in an Irish Green paint.
For those curious about the “Speedy” part of the name, this is because the car is powered by a larger tuned 3.8-liter boxer 6 cylinder engine instead of the original 3.6-liter you would typically find in that car. Total output is 321 hp routed through a G50 5-speed gearbox and limited-slip differential off an RS model. The gorgeous 17 inch Fuchs wheels are wrapped with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The asking price is currently set at 198,000 euros or roughly $230,000.
