Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS Official Debut

Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS

Mercedes-Benz has always had an eye for design, but the Vision EQS Concept is one the most striking cars the company has ever shown off. The Vision EQS features a flowing, smooth design with rounded corners and sleek headlights. Compared to a typical Mercedes-Benz and their current design philosophy, this marks a pretty big break. Mercedes is known for cars that look “classic” no matter their model year. However, the Vision EQS looks like something straight out of the future.

Keep in mind, however, that as a concept, the Benz Vision EQS may not actually be put into production. Mercedes could also decide to eschew the design philosophy all-together. On the other hand, the concept could also hint at the company’s intentions for future models. Still, the Vision does feel like a production car. For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

Mercedes-Benz Vision EQS Interior

Us writers like to call the car’s interior a cockpit. The term lends imagery from fighter jet planes and the like. For your typical family sedan, cockpit is definitely an overstatement. That’s not so for the Vision EQS. The sleek, smooth, and futuristic interior oozes with refinement and the austere dashboard looks like something you’d find in a spaceship. Meanwhile, the squarish steering wheel certainly adds a “fighter jet” appeal.

As for the powertrain, the EQS Concept is mated with an electric system that cranks out 470 horsepower and 760 Nw of torque. The powertrain system is estimated to have a 700 km range and should be able to reach 80 percent charge in just twenty minutes.

Want to see the Vision EQS up close? You can do so at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2019!
