Lamborghini SC63 LMDh Prototype

Lamborghini enters the Le Mans Daytona hybrid (LMDh) prototype competition with the SC63, joining BMW, Porsche, and Cadillac. The hybrid endurance race car features a new 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine in a “cold V” configuration for improved cooling and a lower center of gravity. The SC63’s bodywork, designed by Lamborghini’s in-house Centro Stile studio, incorporates signature Y-shaped headlamps, ensuring instant recognition as a Lamborghini. Debuting in 2024, the SC63 will participate in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar series.

Caterham, renowned for its lightweight sports cars, debuts its first electric vehicle. The Italdesign-designed Project V is a sleek coupé-style EV with an aluminum composite and carbon fiber body, reflecting Caterham’s minimalist ethos at just 2,623 pounds. The rear-mounted 200 kW motor accelerates the car to 62 mph in under 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 143 mph. Its 55 kWh USOC lithium-ion battery recharges 20% to 80% in 15 mins via a 150 kW DC rapid charger, offering an estimated range of 249 miles.

McMurtry Spéirling

The unique McMurtry Spéirling boasts revolutionary downforce technology, akin to Jim Hall’s Chaparral 2J and Gordon Murray’s Brabham BT48. It features a compact, single-seat design powered by two electric motors generating 1,000 hp, backed by a 60 kWh battery for a 300-mile range. Weighing less than 2200 pounds, the fan-powered suction system produces 4400 pounds of downforce at a standstill. The Spéirling impressively holds the record for the fastest climb up Goodwood’s hill, completing it in 39.08 seconds, outpacing an F1 car.
