Ferrari Has Its Best Year Ever With 11,115 Cars Sold
Across the world, a hot economy is leading to record-breaking years for some companies, including famed automaker Ferrari. In 2021, Ferrari raced ahead in its own record books, selling 11,155 vehicles, the most ever for the brand. In 2020, Ferrari moved just 9,119 vehicles, a lofty number itself but far behind the 2021 sales totals.
Ferrari may perhaps be most famous for offering supercars with 12 cylinder engines. However, sales for V12 supercars actually declined by 16.1 percent in 2021. Sales still grew considerably because V8 models saw sales expand by over 34 percent. Does this hint at a long-term trend for Ferrari? Possibly, but the company also notes that its 812 Superfast model, which uses a V12 engine, was phased out.
Should I Buy a New or Used Ferrari?
Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) remained the largest market for the Italian supercar brand, accounting for nearly 5,500 in sales. The fastest-growing region, however, was mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, which saw sales jump by nearly 100 percent. Still, the region accounted for just 899 sales, compared to the more than 2,800 vehicles sold in North America.
So far, Ferrari hasn’t released exact sales numbers for its hybrid vehicles but electric cars may become an increasingly important segment for the brand. The first all-electric Ferrari for sale is expected in 2025. This year, Ferrari is launching the Purosangue SUV. We should also see the new 296GTB hybrid.
Sales-wise, the Purosangue SUV is especially promising as sales of SUVs have enjoyed strong growth the world over.
