Hennessey Venom F5-M: The Most Powerful Manual Hypercar

Hennessey Venom F5-M

Hennessey Special Vehicles, a Texas-based hypercar maker, has shared big news sure to grab the attention of car fans everywhere. The company revealed its plans to produce a limited run of the Venom F5 equipped with a manual transmission, which Hennessey is calling “the world’s most powerful manual-transmission hypercar.” This new model, known as the Venom F5-M Roadster, will be produced in an extremely limited quantity of just 12 units, each starting at a price of $2.65 million.

This exciting development follows the recent record-setting half-mile run by the Venom F5, where test driver David Donohue achieved a top speed of 221.92 mph at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Powered by the same monstrous 1,817 horsepower twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V8 engine—dubbed “Fury”—the new Venom F5-M Roadster will deliver unparalleled performance. The six-speed manual transmission adds an engaging and raw driving experience, something the company’s clients have long requested. “It’s old school, it’s badass, and it offers ultimate driving engagement,” said John Hennessey, founder and CEO of Hennessey Special Vehicles, in an official statement.

Hennessey Venom F5-M Review

The new Venom F5-M Roadster carries echoes of Hennessey’s previous success, the Venom GT Roadster, which was also equipped with a manual transmission. However, unlike the GT Roadster, which was built on a Lotus chassis, the Venom F5 is an entirely original build—a product of Hennessey’s extensive experience and expertise. “The Venom F5 is the only thing that we’ve ever built that was like a clean sheet of paper,” Hennessey said, reflecting on the car’s unique design process when the production version debuted in 2020.

Over the past four years, Hennessey has continued to innovate with the Venom F5 lineup, introducing new variants such as the track-focused Venom F5 Revolution. With the Venom F5-M Roadster, Hennessey took several steps to ensure the manual transmission fit seamlessly into the hypercar’s architecture. A gated shifter replaces the more common upholstered boot seen in the previous Venom GT, and the cockpit underwent a redesign to accommodate the manual transmission. This included remapping the engine’s output and moving key controls like climate settings and window switches lower in the center console.

Externally, the F5-M Roadster distinguishes itself with a 55-inch dorsal fin extending from the rear of the roof’s intake scoop, along with exposed carbon fiber and a striking livery. Each of the 12 units will feature a unique, signature color, which Hennessey removes from its online configurator once selected by a buyer. This customization adds another level of exclusivity to an already rare hypercar.

Despite the $2.65 million price tag, all 12 units have already been sold, underscoring the high demand for Hennessey’s creations. The F5-M Roadster is part of a total production cap of 30 Venom F5 Roadsters, meaning the remaining units are still available for purchase, though it remains uncertain whether any of them will also be fitted with a manual transmission.

With the Venom F5-M Roadster, Hennessey continues to push the boundaries of automotive performance, offering a thrilling combination of extreme power, manual control, and bespoke craftsmanship. This new model stands as a testament to Hennessey’s commitment to innovation and driver engagement, ensuring it will be a car for the history books.
