Koenigsegg Gemera is a Family Friendly Hybrid Supercar

Many hypercars are meant for two, a driver and passenger. And a few hypercars only seat the driver. If you’ve got a family or want to go on a road trip, your typical hypercar makes for a poor choice. The Koenigsegg Gemera, however, is great for trips and families.

Unveiled in Geneva, the Koenigsegg Gemera can seat four and offers plenty of trunk space as well. With the Coronavirus raging across the world, most people tuned into the unveiling through streaming online. While it’d be better to see the Gemera up and close, even through the web, it’s a strikingly beautiful car.

The Gemera uses a hybrid powertrain, making it more environmentally friendly than your average super car. The “engine” under the hood is a mere 2-liter 3 cylinder. That’s not exactly the specs you’d expect to see for a speed demon. Of course, most of the power comes from the Gemera’s 3 electrical motors. Combined, the four engines crank out 1,700 bhp and 3,500 Nm of torque.

On its own, the 2-liter engine still manages to crank out 600 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. You can also use alternative fuels, such as C02 methanol or second-generation ethanol. This makes Koenigsegg Gemera even more environmentally friendly. Want to go all electric? The Gemera has a 50 kilometer EV range.

Speed wise, the Koenigsegg Gemera hits 100 kilometers per hour in just 1.9 seconds. Such speeds are exceptional, especially for a roomy four seater.
