Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept: The Do-All Crossover
Lexus decided to show off some of its best goods at the North American Auto Show, with the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept being one of the hottest items. Crossovers are quite popular in the United States, offering a good mix of space, gas efficiency, a high driving position, and are easy to handle. The Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept tries to be a “do-all” auto for just about everyone, and so far it’s looking very promising.
First, the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept has been designed to hold essentially every type of powertrain. This includes batteries and electric drive-trains, traditional gasoline, fuel cells, and hybrid systems. Lexus is aiming for all of its car platforms to be drive train agnostic by 2025.
The Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept also showcases some of the company’s ambitions in other areas as well. Self-parking, drive-by-wire, a touch-sensitive steering wheel, and advanced break signaling are all on-board. Lexus also showed off what it’s calling “fourth-dimensional” navigation. The fourth-dimension refers to time. More or less, the LF-1 will try to anticipate your schedule and to offer helpful suggestions based on that schedule.
Style-wise, the LF-1 shows off Lexus’s emerging design philosophy for its next-generation vehicles. Lexus’s styling is often quite conservative, but the LF-1 is sleek, daring, and dashing all at once. It’ straddles the line between sports and luxury and imparts a “future is now” look.
If future Lexus vehicles borrow heavily from the Lexus LF-1 Limitless Concept, the future for the automaker may truly be limitless.
