Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe Review

Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe

The Mercedes-AMG GT certainly ranks among the most exciting and exhilarating sedans ever built. Indeed, the Mercedes-AMG GT could keep up with a good number super cars at the race track, yet offers the comfort and convenience of a roomy four door car. Add in Mercedes iconic and timeless styling and a luxurious interior, and you’ve got a car that borders on perfect.

Capable of reaching 60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds, this Mercedes-AMG GT will be leaving most four door sedans lacking a Tesla badge in the dust. It takes a lot of horsepower to get a sedan up and going so quick, but the AMG GT has those in spades. Indeed, the top model AMG GT has 630 ponies under the hood.  The sedan also tops out at 193 miles per hour.

While the engine is in the front, in race track mode those horses are pumped through the rear wheels, giving the Mercedes-AMG GT a muscle car feel. However, if you’re looking for a bit more control, you can engage a variable all-wheel drive system.

While many high performance sedans offer stripped down “race” interiors, the Mercedes AMG GT features the company’s new digital display instrument panel. Instead of buttons, Mercedes provides drivers with display buttons, essentially tiny customizable touch screens.

Some sacrifices had to be made, of course. Unlike most four door sedans, the GT seats only four.  And starting at $136,500, this Mercedes isn’t exactly cheap. But when you consider what you’re getting and the fact that supercars often cost upwards of $200,000, you could properly call the AMG GT a good value.
