Misha Designs Will Turn A Ferrari 488 GTB Into A FXX-K

Supercar tuners tend to be a double-edged sword. Most of the companies take a perfectly-good supercar and ruin it by adding unnecessary body kits, an insane amount of power, and gaudy performance parts. There are some tuners out there, though, that manage to transform a high-performance vehicle into something unique and, arguably, much better. Misha Designs’ take on the Ferrari 488 GTB is an example of the latter.

Last year, Misha Designs took a stock Ferrari 458 and introduced a radical wide-body kit for the supercar that was based off of the track-only FXX K. The tuning company’s back and has done the same thing to the 488 GTB – the successor to the 458. And just like last time, there are two versions wealthy owners can choose from.

The regular, more mundane kit – if you can call it that – replaces the 488 GTB’s front end, hood, rear end, and side air intake covers. The toned-down kit also adds a modest rear spoiler onto the back of the supercar.

Enthusiasts that can afford a 488 GTB, and like the attention the supercar brings, will surely enjoy the more hardcore wide-body kit. The stock 488 GTB is widened by three inches, features a more prominent rear diffuser, and a massive rear wing that could serve as a table for a family of four to eat on.

The kit, just like the highly-exclusive FXX-K, is inspired by Formula One with a double front splitter made out of carbon fiber, while the hood gets the same aggressive touch with a massive vent that also gets the carbon fiber treatment. Misha Designs’ aftermarket kit for the 488 GTB, though, is more exclusive than the FXX-K as the company only plans to offer 20 units of the wide-body kit.

Enthusiasts looking to get a bump in performance, though, will need to look elsewhere, as Misha Designs’s kit does not include an increase in performance. But who’s ever complained about the 488 GTB’s performance? The supercar, thanks to its 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8, is capable of sprinting to 62 mph in approximately three seconds and can hit a top speed of 205 mph. And since both body kits utilize carbon fiber, the supercar’s specs should remain the same.

Misha Designs is currently taking orders for both body kits, with deliveries set to start later this spring.
