The Toyota Supra has always been a favorite among sports motor enthusiasts. Unfortunately, they can be devilishly tricky to acquire in the United States as they aren’t officially sold in America. Land of the free perhaps, but land of the Supra, most certainly not.
Come 2020, however, the Toyota Supra will make its return to the United States. Interestingly enough, the Toyota will be making its way to America via the Land Down Under, Australia, where’s it’s built.
Starting at $49,990, the 2020 Toyota Supra will be equipped with a straight six BMW engine that’ll crank out a respectable 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. That engine will enable the 2020 Toyota Supra to hit sixty in about 4.1 seconds. It’ll top out at 155 miles per hour.
While these specs aren’t quite as impressive as what you’ll get from Porsche and similar super car makers, it’ll be the fastest Toyota-branded car ever. And it’s a beauty. The styling already looks iconic, hinting at roadsters from the past while clearly being defined by the future.
The first 1,500 2020 Supras built for the American market will be launch editions. A carbon fiber dash plaque will display the car’s number and feature a signature from Akio Toyoda, the President of Toyota Motors. The launch editions will also feature exclusive matte black wheels and a 2 tone leather interior.
Unfortunately, you’ll have to shell out a bit extra, $55,250 to be exact, to get your hands on a launch edition.
