WHAT WE THINK In a 2018 First Drive review, we said the new M5 offers blistering acceleration and has regained its agile driving dynamics despite its massive footprint. The 2018 M5 features crisp turn ins and feels right at home on a race track. However, its size does hinder your ability to place it on the narrow roads. Ride comfort does suffer even in its softest setting and can get punishing in more aggressive settings. On the track, the 2018 M5 is right at home and can easily take on corners at high speeds with plenty of traction, allowing you to confidently go faster even with the electronic aids turned off. COOL FACT The 2018 M5’s all-wheel-drive system is one of only a handful of systems that lets you put the car in full rear-wheel drive mode so that you can do smoky burnouts and drift to your heart’s desire.
