Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta Officially Breaks Cover, Already Sold Out
What is there to say about a car that is already sold out? If it were anything other than something from Ferrari, we would say not much. Ferrari, however, has a unique way of grabbing headlines. At the Paris Motor Show, Ferrari officially unveiled the LaFerrari Aperta—a LaFerrari with an open top—and headlines it is grabbing.
The unveiling confirms the topless hypercar is called the Aperta, not the Spider. Only 209 examples will be made. Of course, as the headline reads, they are all sold. Two hundred will be going to some very lucky customers. The other nine will stay with Ferrari for special events throughout 2017. The special events will help the automaker celebrate its 70th anniversary.
Power is the same 949 total horsepower, which comes from a V-12 paired with an electric motor. Even with the top open, Ferrari says the LaFerrari Aperta keeps the same aerodynamics and torsional rigidity as the hardtop version.
The car looks stunning in its appearance. The scalloped sides and sharp lines are only accentuated by the open top. We image the sound from the V-12 is even more glorious now that the top has been removed. We would say start saving now, but you’re going to have to pull some crazy strings to get your hands on one. Maybe it’s time to remortgage the house?
