Vector Avtech WX3: Fund the Future By Buying the Past

Vector Avtech WX3

Vector is a name that we haven’t heard in a long, long time. The Vector Motors Corporation designed some truly time-fashioned cars back in the late 80’s and 90’s. Now, Vector is looking to get back into the game, but in order to get started, they need someone to buy their Avtech WX3 Coupe and Roadster Prototypes for $3.5 million. That money will be used to develop a new hypercar.

The Vector WX-3’s vaguely resemble the early 90’s Lamborghini Diablos, but eschewed sharp edges for rounded curves. Air intakes in front of the rear wheels, and the long, low-slung spoiler are present, however. Further, the overall profile seems to almost pay homage to the Diablos of old.

Befitting their 90’s heritage, the cars come in a vivid teal and purple. The Avtech WX3 Coupe and roadster were designed with a 7.0L DOHC turbocharged V8 engine that Vector claims can produce 1,000 HP or more. They are equipped with a 3 speed transmission.

Unfortunately, neither car ever made it into production. Just two of the WX3’s, the ones now up for sale, were ever produced. So if you do shell out $3.5 million, you’re guaranteed to be getting an interesting piece of hypercar history.

If you decide you don’t like the cars and Vector Motors is revived, you’ll be able to sell them back through buyback provision for twice what you paid. However, you’ll be paid in Vector stocks and will have, at most, just 24 months to exercise the provision.

So either way, you’ll be obtaining unique collectors items, but you’re going to have to pay quite a bit if you want them.
