BMW Concept 4 Set to Draw Eyes At Frankfurt

If you’re like many other auto enthusiasts, you might be waiting for news on the upcoming BMW 4 Series. Now, you’ll be able to see the BMW 4 Concept Series up close and personal, or at least you can if you head to the Frankfurt Motor Show 2019. The BMW Concept 4 shows off BMW’s new vision for the cult-classic coupe.

Photos indicate that the Concept will re-interpret BMW’s design and the adjustments, if implemented in the production version, will make the new BMW 4 Series quite a bit different from its predecessor. The shape, for example, is taller than the current BMW 4 series. And the wheel arches are more aggressive yet smoother at the same time.

Meanwhile, BMW’s classic kidney grille has been enlarged. In fact, on the BMW Concept 4, the grille is nothing short of massive. BMW already upped the grill in the BMW 328 and BMW 3.0 CSi, but the Concept’s grille is even more expansive.

As for the rear end, the BMW Concept 4 has a pretty caboose. The Concept 4 features a high rear hatch as well as a boot-lid spoiler that is chiseled right into the shape. There are also two very distinguishable air outlets.

As for performance, there are no specifics yet, but we can expect the BMW Concept 4 to be a fast, fun car to drive.

So how much of the Concept 4 will make it to the actual road car? That remains to be seen. The grille might be a bit too intense for actual production, and likely, something more in line with the BMW 430 will be adopted. The rest of the car, however, looks road ready.
