Audi has decided to up its game with its latest set of launches. Its ability to cater to every community- families, car enthusiasts and racers, has made it a brand that stands in, comfortably, for automobile excellence.

The Audi R8 LMS is the race-car version of the affordable and revamped Audi R8 for sale. It has begun to garner a lot of support and curiosity in the racing community because of its success on the track.

The interest the car has generated in private teams has encouraged Audi to think about adding to the line which has culminated in the unveiling of the LMS GT4 at the New York Motor Show this year. The GT4 is a more affordable follow-up to the GT3 and can be driven in any race circuit under GT4 regulations.

With the car already slated to perform in the Nurburgring 24 hours and North America, Australia and Asia, the production of the car is to begin in the latter half of 2017.

The GT4 is the perfect melting pot of its on-road twin R8 as well as the fiercer GT3. The aerodynamic fixtures in front of the car make it race car quality. Audi has reformulated the splitter along with a redesigning of the nose. They have also thrown in a pair of wing on the sides of the bumper.

The car also boasts of revamped side skirts and light wheels enveloped in Pirelli P Zero racing tires. The back of the car adds more power to the machine with its huge exhaust at the center and a massive diffuser. There is also an impressive wing on top of the deck lid. The look of the car is at par with its power packed features as it is streaked in bright red at just the right places.

The inside of the GT4 lives up to all the race-car specs one could hope for with an additional set of safety gear. Audi has loaded the car with a fire extinguisher, safety net and crash foam, to comply with FIA regulations. GT4 also borrows from its sibling PS3, a safety seat with a harness, a roof hatch and a safety cage. There is also an adjustable wheel, a data logging device as well as a multi-function display. All the tech in the car is customized to save space and be lightweight.

But what breathes fire into this dragon is its 5.2 l V-12 engine with an output of about 495 hp. On combining that with the car’s lightness and its innovative design, the GT4 becomes a sure-shot track pleaser for this year.

Audi claims that the GT4 is ideal for amateur racers and those racing within the G4 specifications. What adds popularity to the GT4 is the world-wide service support offered by Audi, be it for maintenance, professional support or spare-parts. The network developed for the GT3 will also deliver on the GT4, making it a favorite in the racing circuits of coming years.
