Jaguar XJR-15 Expected to Fetch Close to $2 Million at Auction
If you’re looking to own one of the rarest hypercars in existence, the famed Jaguar XJR-15, you’re in luck. An XJR-15 is expected to hit the auction block in the near future. Only 27 street legal copies of the Jaguar XJR-15 were manufactured, meaning this supercar ranks among the rarest in the world.
The Jaguar XJR-15 was one of the first production cars to use carbon fiber, making it one of the lighter cars both today and during the 1990s. Equipped with a 6-liter V-12 engine capable of cranking out 450 horsepower, this Jaguar can reach speeds in excess of 190 miles per hour. It should also hit 60 miles in about 3.9 seconds. While sub-three-second cars are somewhat common these days, few cars up until the 90s were able to hit 60 in less than four seconds.
Bidding for the Jaguar XJR-15 will fetch at least $1.95 million. That may seem like a lot of cash for a single car, but even at launch, the Jaguar XJR-15 was fetching nearly a million dollars. Decades passed have only made the hypercar more valuable.
The Jaguar XJR-15 heading to auction is done up with a classic and classy deep blue and is in mint condition. There are only 1,362 miles on the odometer. And this hypercar is built on the no. 021 chassis. Whoever manages to take home the Jaguar XJR-15 will be parking a piece of motorsports history.
