When it comes to the fastest, it’s hard to keep up with, let alone beat, the Bugatti Chiron. The Chiron ranks among the fastest hypercars of all time. That said, even with high-end luxury cars, not all models are built equal. A special edition anniversary Bugatti for sale is set to hit the auction block soon enough and is projected to sell for more than $4 million.
So what makes for a limited anniversary Bugatti Chiron? The most obvious difference is the fetching two-tone exterior paint job. This anniversary edition features a black front coupled with a white rear. The excellent good looks don’t stop skin deep, however. Inside, you’ll also find an eye-catching electric blue interior, with the steering wheel, seats, center console, and other bits done up.
The choice of a blue interior is inspired by more than simply good looks. In the early 20th century, vehicles racing in the Gordon Bennett Cup painted their cars different colors. This made them easier to distinguish from one another. Back then, Bugatti raced under a so-called French racing blue. The interior on this special edition vehicle pays homage.
You may have never heard of the Gordon Bennett Cup as the trophy was only offered from 1900 to 1905. Hosted in France, this cup was one of the biggest racing events in the motorsports world at the time. After the Gordon Bennett Cup wrapped up in 1905, the Automobile Club de France (ACF) began to host the Grand Prix motor racing event.
