The BMW M3: 30-Years and Counting

BMW M3 "30 Years M3"

BMW has never been able to disappoint when it comes to performance and luxury. Why should 2016 be any different? To celebrate the M3’s birthday (born in 1986), BMW has debuted two Special Editions, the ‘30 years M3’ and the UK exclusive ‘M3 30 Jahre’. Able to go 0-60 in 4-seconds, which is 1/10 of a second quicker than the standard M3. What’s the price you ask? It’s £82,675 – £26K more than the standard car.

What’s the differences?

’30 Years M3’

’30 Years M3’: There will only be 470 of these cars released worldwide. I know sad day for the “small” people in the world. It will come exclusively in a Macao Blue Metallic exterior and will have full Merino leather interior available in black/fjord blue or black/Silverstone. This beautiful beast will feature 20-inch forged alloy lightweight wheels, 6-speed or 7-speed twin clutch automatic transmission paired with an impressive 444-horsepower 3.0L twin turbo I-6 engine. These features will come as the standard for this model. They have topped this car off with the ’30 Years M3’ badging on the front door sills and stitched into the front headrests. There are also a slew of options available.

‘M3 30 Jahre’

‘M3 30 Jahre’: This model is only available in the UK and a measly 30 will be produced. Like the ’30 Years M3’, this car will house the 3.0L twin turbo I-6 engine with 444-hp but will come only with the 7-speed twin clutch transmission. The ‘M3 30 Jahre’ will also model the 20-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels, accented by a matte Frozen Silver metallic paint job. The black/fjord blue full Merino leather interior is the standard on this particular edition. It will also come standard with some carbon fiber goodies! Such as a carbon fiber front splitter, mirror caps, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. This car will also feature carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive LED headlights, heads up display, full surround camera and keyless entry/start just to name a few. The finishing touches are of course the front door sill’s embellished and front head rests stitched with ‘M3 30 Jahre’

Once again BMW has succeeded in giving the world something to be in awe over. This special edition car is a work of art and is something the manufacturer should be proud of. I don’t know about you but I would drive this car like I stole it, which is about the only way I’d ever be able to be behind the wheel of one. I know I’m just jealous.
