The New 2018 BMW M4 CS
The Legend Returns
Bavarian manufacturer BMW came back with a bang at the Shanghai motor show held in April last year, proudly presenting its latest creation, the 2018 BMW M4 CS, a Coupé that has set tongues a-wagging in automobile circles even before the first cars have rolled off the production line.
The new car also reaffirms the fact that BMW has revised its nomenclature for its vehicles. Starting with ‘M’ designated to the usual sports models, it also denotes competition models. The ‘CS’ is allocated for special edition models, so it is quite likely that a CS version for the BMW M2 may follow shortly.
Performance Expectations
The M4 CS throws up some decent stats with an acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 280 kmph. The twin-turbo engine is linked to a 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission with a paddleshift gearbox.
Innovative Additions
The M sports suspension used in the new car is unique to the ‘M4’ series and according to BMW, this ultra-light suspension contributed towards an outstanding performance at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, where the M4 CS reached near supercar speeds with a record time of 7 min, 38 sec per lap.
Another interesting feature is the ‘Dynamic Stability Control’ system which is a unique chassis control system specially designed by BMW. This system imparts a high degree of stability to the vehicle by maximizing traction on the wheels and detects any hint of oversteering or understeering despite varying grip levels of the tires.
In the new CS model, the dampers offer three settings which you can choose according to whether you or on or off the track. The different modes are ‘Comfort’ and ‘Sport’ for the road and ‘Sport+’ while on the racetrack.
Lustrous Looks
The stunning purple paintwork sets the theme of the car with its impressive lines. The BMW M4 CS has an all-powerful thanks to aggressively-designed bodywork. The large three-section air intakes and impressive carbon-fiber splitter at the front are styled tastefully and are equally matched with the rear diffuser and carbon-fiber spoiler lip.
Light-alloy 19-inch and 20-inch wheels at the front and rear use Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slick tires which can be changed to regular Michelin Sport road tires for off-track driving.

Inside the Car
Interiors of the new BMW are as impressive as ever. Carbon Fiber is extensively used but in an aesthetic way and at the same time rendering the cockpit driver-oriented. M Sport seats in leather or microseuede add the finishing touch to give you a comfortable ride amidst all the technology packed into the controls that include a radio and navigation system.
It’s yours for a Price
The new BMW M4 CS is finally here, and you will love it, you are going to want it but will you get it? That all depends on whether you happen to have £89,130 (about $ 1,153,855) to spare. Even if you do, you might just find yourself in the queue as BMW hasn’t made any announcement about production and deliveries yet.
