Huayra-Based Pagani Imola Is Now Official
Pagani, an Italian hypercar company, has been carving out quite the name for itself for its fast, exciting rides. Now, the Pagani Imola could raise the bar even further. While based on the well-regarded Huayra, the Imola is ditching the former’s name and instead paying homage to the Imola racetrack. It’s believed that just 5 Imolas will be produced, so if you can get your hands on one, you’re getting a rare specimen indeed.
The Imola racetrack is quite famous and the Pagani Imola has already spend an estimated 16,000 KM on the track. To put that into perspective, that’s about three 24 hour Le Mans worth of racing. This has allowed Pagani to fine tune the Imola.
The Imola shares a lot with the Huayra, including an AMG-sourced V12 engine, which can crank out 827 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque. The Imola also shares the Xtrac 7-speed AMT equipped with electro-mechanical differential, which delivers all that power to the rear wheels.
Ground clearance has been reduced, which should increase downforce. The Huayra already featured an advanced active aerodynamics system but the Imola improves upon it. The suspension too has been improved with electronically controlled shock absorbers.
Weight ticked up a bit even though Pagani opted to use the Acquarello Light painting system, which reduced weight by roughly 5 KG.
The biggest difference, however, is probably the exterior. Pagani is already making a name for itself with its aggressive, even brutal design philosophy. The Imola, however, is perhaps the most “brutally” designed Pagani yet.
