Rare Jaguar C-X75 Bond Car Going Up For Auction

Jaguar C-X75

Another Bond car will soon be racing onto the auction blocks. A Jaguar C-X75 is expected to be sold at RM Sothebuy’s first auction in Abu Dhabi. As of now, the auction is scheduled for February 1st 2020, which will coincide with the finale of the F1 racing championship.

While plenty of high-end Lamborghinis and Ferraris are expected to be on hand, it’ll be hard to top the Jaguar C-X75. Even outside of Bond star power, the Jaguar C-X75 is a rare car and a high performance super star.

In fact, the C-X75 was never actually officially put into production and only a small number of them were ever sold. For the Bond production, six examples were built. Each of the six cars was filmed in a different scene within Bond. The model being sold in February was actually driven by the villain during a chase scene set in Rome.

The Jaguar C-X75 is an interesting bit of the company’s heritage as well. The model was originally designed to showcase electric technology and would have had four engines. It would have marked a rare foray into hyper cars as well for Jaguar.

Jaguar decided to shelf the project, but the X-C75’s good looks caught the attention of the Bond production team. So the team reached out to Jaguar and convinced the company to build several C-X75s.

It’s unclear how much the Jaguar X-C75 will fetch at auction. Other Bond cars have sold for millions of dollars, however, and this particular model is exceedingly rare and an interesting bit of hyper car history as well. So a seven figure winning price wouldn’t be surprising.
